How To Play

Arthur's Quest is a wild card, bonus slot game with 2 modes of play: regular and bonus. In regular play, the goal is to achieve a winning combination of symbols on the game's reels, along any of 9 possible pay lines. You can select any or all of the pay lines, and bet up to 5 credits on each.

The bonus game allows you to multiply your winnings many times over. If a winning combination of bonus symbols appears during regular play, a bonus feature will be triggered.

Select the value of your credits using the + or - buttons. This will set your credit value and display it above the + and - buttons.

Select the pay lines you would like to wager on by clicking on either the coloured circles on both sides of each pay line, the "Bet Nine" button, or the "Bet Max" button. The number of credits you are playing for the respective pay line is displayed in each coloured pay line button.

Set your bet amount (number of credits) by clicking the "Bet One" or "Bet Max" button. Your bet amount will be shown in the "Coins" display.

Press the Spin button to spin the reels.

If you enter the "Pick-a-Spell" or "Sword in the Stone" bonus feature, follow the instructions to determine your bonus multiplier.

The result of a winning feature is shown on the "Paid" display.

Button Functions

Pay Line Buttons- You can select pay lines individually by clicking on the circles to the right and left of the game screen. Mouse over the circles to see which pay line each represents.

View Pay Table- Provides a view of the available payouts. Select "Return to Game" to close.

View Pay Lines- Provides a view of the available pay lines. Select "Return to Game" to close.

Determine credit value
" + " Raises the credit value. The new value is displayed above.
" - " Lowers the credit value. The new value is displayed above.

Clear- Clears the lines and amount to be bet to 0.

Bet Nine- Automatically places a 1-credit bet on each of the 9 pay lines, each time the button is pressed. The number of lines is displayed in the "Lines" window; the amount you have selected to bet will be displayed in the "Bet" window.

Bet Max- Automatically places a 5-credit bet on each of the 9 pay lines. The number of lines is displayed in the "Lines" window, the amount you have selected to bet will be displayed in the "Bet" window.

Spin- Activates the reels. On the next spin, the button is changed to "Same Spin" enabling you to repeat your last bet. To change your bet, select new pay lines.

Game Displays

Balance- Shows your monetary account balance.

Credits- Credits, is your balance converted into the credit value you have selected. For example, if your balance is 1000.00 and you select a credit value of 1.00, then the credit display will show 1000 credits (worth 1.00 each). With the same 1000.00 balance, if you select a credit value of 2.00, the credit display will show 500 credits (worth 2.00 each).

Lines- Shows the number of lines that have been selected.

Bet- Shows the number of credits that have been selected.

Paid- Shows the number of credits you won on the spin just played.

Objective

Rules

A slot game with five reels and nine pay lines is used.

A wild card symbol (WILD Sword) substitutes for other weapon symbols in order to get a winning combination.

You can choose the value of the credits to be played and bet from one credit or up to five credits per line, for all or any of the 9 pay lines, for a maximum total of 45 credits. Different payouts are awarded depending on the number of credits played and the winning combination of symbols.

Regular Play

All winning patterns for regular play begin with a symbol on the left-most reel, and continue left to right along the pay line.

NOTE: The symbols must be adjacent to each other, with no other symbols in-between them, in order to win.

You can view the payouts and each winning combination by clicking the "View Pay Tables" button. A winning pay line will highlight and display the number of credits won.

Pay Lines

These are the nine possible pay lines:

Note that some squares are used in more than one pay line. Since the weapon symbols win even if there is only one of them, having one weapon in, for example the bottom left-most corner, means you will win 3 times for pay lines 3, 5, and 9.

Payout amounts vary on:

  1. What the symbol is
  2. How many symbols in a row - 3, 4, or 5 (or in the case of any of the weapon symbols, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5). A winning pay line will highlight and the number of credits won will be displayed.


Wild Cards

The WILD sword is a wild card symbol.

This means that in addition to paying out on 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 WILD swords (from left to right), this symbol is also used to complete the other weapon combinations (crossed lances and crossed axes).

For example, if you have 2 crossed Lances and 1 WILD sword beside each other in any order, starting at the left-most reel on a pay line, you will win the payout for 3 crossed lances.

Bonus Feature Activation

Arthur's Quest has 3 different bonus features which are activated by the Arthur, Guinevere and Merlin bonus symbols.

3 or more Arthur symbols activate the Sword in the Stone bonus feature.
3 or more Merlin symbols activate the Pick-a-Spell bonus feature.
3 or more Guinevere symbols activate the Enchanted Dragonfly instant bonus feature.

3 or more identical bonus symbols appearing on adjacent reels (beside each other with no other symbols in-between them) will activate their respective bonus feature.

NOTE:These symbols DO NOT have to start at the left-most position or share a pay line, but they do have to be on adjacent reels.

Calculating The Bonus

Bonuses consist of 3 multipliers which are combined to determine how many bonus credits are to be awarded.

Credits played x Win multiplier x Bonus multiplier = Bonus credits won.

  1. Credits played - number of credits played on the spin that triggered the bonus (1 to 45)
  2. Win multiplier - number of reel bonus symbols that triggered the bonus (1, 2, or 3)
  3. Bonus multiplier - number of multipliers uncovered in the bonus round (1 to 22). Note: In the "Enchanted Dragonfly" feature, the bonus multiplier is randomly selected and multiplied by Credits played and by the Win multiplier to produce an instant bonus!

Once all the multipliers have been determined, they are tabulated in the "Bonus Round Summary" (except the "Enchanted Dragonfly" feature which shows total credits won instantly).

Credits Played

You can play up to 45 credits (9 lines x 5 credits each). The more credits played, the higher the bonus will be.

Win Multiplier

The more symbols used to activate the bonus feature, the higher your Win multiplier will be.

3 symbols = 1x win multiplier
4 symbols = 2x win multiplier
5 symbols = 3x win multiplier

Credits played and the Win multiplier are carried into the bonus feature, where they are combined with the Bonus multiplier to determine your total bonus credit winnings.

Bonus Feature

Entering the bonus feature, you have established 2 of 3 Credit multipliers, Credits played and Win multipliers. The bonus feature determines your third multiplier, the Bonus multiplier.

Each bonus symbol triggers a different bonus feature.

Guinevere Bonus Symbols

Three or more "Guineveres" trigger the "Enchanted Dragonfly" bonus feature.

The reel panel dissolves on the main screen revealing a pond with dragonflies buzzing around. The frog on the screen catches a dragonfly with its tongue revealing the total bonus credits won. The Bonus multiplier is randomly selected and multiplied by Credits played x Win multiplier to produce an instant bonus!


Arthur Bonus Symbols

Three or more "Arthurs" trigger the "Sword In The Stone" bonus feature.

Pull the swords from the stone by clicking on them. Each sword pulled reveals a bonus multiplier of 1x, 2x, or 5x in a puff of smoke.
Bonus multipliers are added together as more swords are pulled. Bonus play ends when you click on the "Finish" sword. If the "Finish" sword is selected first, you will win the maximum possible bonus (all swords). All bonus multipliers picked are added up. For example, if you picked 1x, 2x, 2x, 5x, Finish... your bonus multiplier would be 10x.


Merlin Bonus Symbols

Three or more "Merlins" symbols trigger "Pick-A-Spell" bonus feature.

A spell book screen is opened, showing 4 spells on the page. Run your mouse arrow over the spells to highlight the runes on the pages. Click on a spell to create a puff of smoke and have stars come off the page one by one. Each star revealed increases by one until the maximum sum of bonus multipliers (up to 22) is shown.


Bonus Round Summary

Your total bonus winnings are calculated as follows:

Win multiplier x Bonus multiplier x Credits played.

Example:
In the screen below the player bet 5 credits on each of the 9 pay lines for totalling 45 credits played, received 3 Arthur symbols on adjacent reels for a win multiplier of 1x, and then clicked on swords in the "Sword in the Stone" bonus feature that totalled 9x before clicking on the "Finish" sword.
The player won 405 credits (1 x 45 x 9 = 405 credits).
The monetary value of the credits depends on the value the credits were set at (see Button Functions - Select Credit Value).

Betting Limits

The minimum bet is 1 credit per round.
The maximum bet is 45 credits per round.
