Game description

In Blackjack - also known as "21" - each player plays against only the dealer (the computer). Each are dealt two cards. The goal of both player and the dealer is to try and get their hands to total 21 without going over. The hand that gets closer to 21 without going over wins the bet.

BlackJack Rules
The Dealer deals from six 52 card decks which are reshuffled after every hand.
All face cards have a value of ten. Aces have a value of either one or 11 points; if counting the ace as 11 would put the hand over 21, count the ace as one. Other cards are worth their face value.
When both your and the dealer's hands are the same, it's a "push" or a tie, which results in the return of your bet. If you get Blackjack you win unless the dealer also has a Blackjack.

Sound on/off
A sound on/off toggle allows you to turn on and off the sound in all games by pressing the "s" key on the keyboard.

If the total of your cards exceeds 21, you "bust" and lose your bet. If you have the same total as the dealer, from 17 and up, it is a push. The dealer must draw cards until he has at least 17, and must stand at 17 or higher. If the dealer gets 16, he must take another card. The dealer may not decide whether or not to draw a card based on your hand, but must abide by the existing dealer rules.

The Dealer will always 'draw' cards to 16 and will always stand on 17, including a soft 17 (Ace and a 6). If the Dealer busts, the game is over and you win. Once the Dealer stands, the hands are compared and the hand closest to 21 is paid. The simplest way to get exactly 21 is to hold an ace and either a face card or a ten. (Suit is irrelevant).

Using the system
To first place your bet, click on your chips stacked by denomination in the bottom right corner of the screen. Then click on "Deal" and you will receive two cards face up with the dealer receiving one card up and one down. If you have already played one hand and click "Deal," you will bet the same amount as the previous hand. If you want to decrease or increase the bet total, simply click on the appropriate chip total you require and a new bet total will be established.

After having received your two cards face up, you have one of four options: Hit, Stand, Split, or Double. Hit means to take another card, and Stand means that you will remain at the card total you now have showing. For further information on Split, or Double, please refer to "Types of Bets."

BLACKJACK TYPES OF BETS
- Split If you receive two cards of same value you may 'split' them into two hands. The Dealer will deal an additional card to each hand, and you now are playing with two hands. The play proceeds from left to right. Once you're done playing one hand, you play the next. When finished with all hands, the Dealer plays his. You may split, but not re-split, aces. Our game will allow you to play up to four hands. If you don't have enough money to cover the extra bet, you won't be able to split.

Double Down When you have been dealt two cards, and think that a third card will put you in position to beat the dealer's hand, you can "double down." Your wager is doubled, and you are allowed to hit and receive just one additional card. Double Down is only available immediately after you receive your first two cards. To Double Down, click Double or press D.

Insurance is a game of its own within blackjack. After the initial deal, if the Dealer is showing an ace, you may make an insurance bet against the possibility of a Dealer blackjack. You bet half of your original bet, and if the Dealer does have Blackjack the insurance will pay you 2 to 1. In all but one case you lose your original bet, and the insurance will allow you to break-even. But if both you and the dealer have Blackjack, you win the Insurance bet and push the original bet. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, you lose your insurance bet, and the game continues with the original bet.
